“Mirador” means a lookout — a place to take in the view. Ours sits where the San Jacinto mountains meet the valley floor, behind a breeze-block wall and a stand of date palms.

Nineteen rooms, one saltwater pool, a small spa, and a courtyard restaurant. No crowds, no clamor — just sun on stucco, the smell of citrus, and the kind of slow afternoon you came to the desert for.
